Bravo. At the end of the day, all anyone really wonders and wants is to be thought of every now ‘n’ then. Not all the time, not even for long… just every now ‘n’ then. A tip of the hat to the past. A fleeting glimpse of respect for a time long gone, but one that was long enjoyed.
Thanks. 🧡 It’s been inspired by the song attached; I don’t know if you know it. Fred Neil sings about big topics (wars and finding meaning) and then in the chorus he casually wonders, “Do you ever think of me?” 🌹
Yeah, the record the song came off of is an absolute classic. In fact, it’s a very unique sounding record, even for it to be released in the time that records like ‘Revolver’ and ‘Blonde on Blonde’ were coming out. But yeah, tremendous.
The thing is, you don't get voices like that anymore. That sorta bass baritone sorta thing. The mix of traditional singing made contemporary. Everyone seems to have the same voice and it doesn't help that it's the same people writing the songs as everyone else. Definitely two records to listen to before you die, absolutely.
Oh, agreed. It’s definitely unique. I have a weakness for voices like that. I think someone’s voice can completely undo you, unlace your neurons, and set your mind adrift. Scott Walker and Charlie Rich come to mind as well.
Music, in general, has that thing about it that no one knows exactly what it is, but we know we dig it. I thought of 'The World's Strongest Man' off of 'Scott 4'. Tremendous performance. The whole record is, come to think of it!
Great album! I have it alongside Bleecker and McDougal (that one has one of my favourite album covers of all time). I love his voice and the emotion it conveys. It’s very special. 🌹
It’s tremendous. Its name is fantastic, too. Obviously, that Greenwich Village folk period in the early 60’s means a great deal, if not the world to me. He seems to slip through a lot of the cracks when people talk about that period. His ‘The Water is Wide’ off that record is tremendous. Perfect for rainy nights in December, funnily enough.

Scott is without a peer. I think my favourite of his is “It’s Raining Today,” but it’s hard to choose. His voice is an instrument of its own.
Awk, it’s all good. You know people know their stuff when they start talking about Scott Walker.
The Water Is Wide is my favourite too!! My God, what a song! And his vocals on it are out of this world. It smashes me to pieces every single time!

Wow... yes to all!
Thank you kindly! 🧡🌹
Dear Ms. Zennarrow,
Reading this feels like inhaling smoke and starlight at once.
That’s a wonderful description. Thank you so much. 🧡🌹
